Caring for your Liberty fabric Clementine & Co pieces …

.Clementine & Co’s pillowcases, cushions, napkins and pouches are made from quality Liberty of London cotton. Carefully handmade to last by our Clementine & Co makers. Although a little love and attention when it comes to caring for your pieces goes a long way in preserving their heirloom quality.

I don’t know about you but I there truly is nothing lovelier than slipping into a clean bed with our Liberty frilled cotton pillowcases a great night’s sleep, & a sense of calm are guaranteed. Fresh napkins on your dining table bring a sense of occasion to even the simplest mid week meals.

Washing your Liberty Fabric pieces

Clementine & Co products are all machine washable on a ‘hand wash’ or ‘delicates’ cycle which certainly makes all of our lives a little easier. Although of course, you can hand wash if you prefer. For best results, don’t overload your washing machine, wash inside out to prevent colours fading and keep table napkins marked with food in their own wash. If you do need to mix your Clementine & Co pillowcases , napkins, pouches & cushions with other laundry try to avoid any sharp edges or abrasive materials which may catch on the luxury cotton fibres.

Many of us wrongly believe you need to wash bed linen or napkins at high temperatures to kill bacteria. Thankfully a warm wash at 40 degrees does the job perfectly, while washing slightly cooler on a 30 degree hand wash or delicates cycle is even kinder to the planet.

Be sparing with fabric conditioner, a little goes a long way!. As cotton is a natural fibre it actually gets softer throughout the washing process and build up of fabric conditioner will dull the natural lustre of the Liberty Tana Lawn cotton we use for our pretty cushions & pouches .

Below are some of our favourite gentle washing liquids.

Stains!

For stains flush out the offending spill as quickly as possible under cold water - never use hot water which can lock stains in. If the stain sets, spot treat it with a solution of half water and half vinegar before washing. Always line dry marked items on a sunny day and let the sunshine work its magic.

Ironing

When it comes to ironing, we recommend warm ironing whilst your pillowcase, napkin, cushion or pouch is still a little damp - it makes the whole process much easier and creates better results. This also revives the lustre of the fibres sometimes lose when being washed.

Enjoy & care for your pretty Clementine & Co pieces carefully they will last a lifetime

Xx Aimee
